The Potteries Swim School, founded in 1997 by Rebecca Baynes.

We obtain information about you when you enquire about swimming lessons via our website, email or telephone, book lessons by phone or email. We may also collect details in other ways, for example, if you use our facebook page to contact us.

Your privacy is important to us and we confirm that we will never release your personal details to any third party for their mailing or marketing purposes. To ensure that any services (swimming lessons) you purchase from us are processed accurately and efficiently. To meet our obligations arising from any agreements entered into by us and to notify you of any changes to our service provision.

To process your booking and personalise your experience with us (your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs). To inform you of details relating to your booking i.e. messages regarding term start dates, fees and informing parents about pool closures, rebooking information, teacher updates etc. The e-mail addresses and telephone numbers you provide us with, will only be used to send you information and updates pertaining to The Potteries Swim School or to inform you of current availability if you are on our waiting list.

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us. If you are registering your details with us to make an enquiry or book swimming lessons with us, we may also contact you via email, phone or text message with information such as waiting list updates, course start dates and crash courses. If you consent to do this but later change your mind, you can opt out by contacting us and we will update your account preferences immediately.

Raising a complaint

Should you have a complaint regarding your data, please contact us straight away and we will work with you to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction. In the unlikely event that you are still not happy, you have the right to contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.

If at any time you would like to OPT OUT of receiving information from us please email the name of the swimmer with OPT OUT to potteries@theswimschool.net and you will be removed from our database mailing list. However, you will then not be updated by The Potteries Swim School regarding lesson cancellation due to pool closures, re-booking information, news, term dates etc.

Keeping your records up to date
